Annelien van Wauwe


Annelien Van Wauwe is one of the most promising clarinetists of her generation. She studied with the internationally renowned soloist Sabine Meyer in Lübeck, Pascal Moragues in Paris, Alessandro Carbonare in Rome, as well as with Wenzel Fuchs and Ralf Forster in Berlin. Her victory at the 61st International ARD Music Competition in Munich, in 2012, was a decisive step on her path towards recognition.

From 2015 to 1017 Annelien Van Wauwe participated in the BBC New Generation Art-ists scheme. She has performed with the BBC Symphonic Orchestras, played debuts in the UK’s main concert venues and recorded a wide repertoire for BBC3. In the same year the label GENUIN launched her 'Weinberg Prokofiev Clarinet Sonatas' CD and she received the Klara-Award from the Flemish Radio.

Annelien Van Wauwe has performed at leading international festivals, appeared in prestigious halls such as Philharmonie Berlin, Konzerthaus Vienna, Tonhalle Zürich and Concertgebouw Amsterdam; with orchestras like Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Ber-lin, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève and Philharmonie Zuidnederland.
