Interartists welcomes Valentina LisitsaJanuary 19th 2012
After having worked for her for 1.5 years in the background we’re very happy to inform you pianist Valentina Lisitsa will be represented officially in the Benelux by Interartists Amsterdam.
With her multi-faceted playing described as "dazzling", Valentina Lisitsa is at ease in a vast repertoire ranging from Bach and Mozart to Shostakovich and Bernstein. She admits to having a special affinity for the music of Rachmaninoff and Beethoven and continues to add to her vast repertoire each season.
In May 2010, Valentina Lisitsa performed the Dutch premiere of Rachmaninoff’s “New 5th” Concerto in her debut with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. She will return to this orchestra in October 2012 to perform Rachmaninoff’s 3rd Concerto with Eivind Gulberg Jensen. The 2011-12 season will see Valentina Lisitsa twice in the Netherlands: Sunday 22 January in Delft and Friday 27 January in Haarlem. In 2012-13 more recitals are planned in the Benelux.
A champion in the use of new media, Valentina Lisitsa pushes traditional boundaries to reach out audiences around the globe. With more than 37 million YouTube channel views, Valentina Lisitsa is one of the most sought-after classical musicians on the Web. In the summer of 2010, thousands of music fans worldwide witnessed bedazzled the live broadcast of Ms. Lisitsa’s practice sessions, allowing her to show a different aspect of her artistic persona. For two weeks, world audiences watched Ms. Lisitsa learn and prepare to the utmost detail almost 4 hours of new music in daily 14 hour long sessions. Similar initiatives followed for the recording sessions of her upcoming CD’s, receiving the enthusiastic approval and support from fans around the world.
Ms. Lisitsa’s huge popularity on YouTube resulted in a unique invitation. June 19th 2012 she will make her Royal Albert Hall debut. An invitation like this was reserved over last century to a very few classical artists. The hall has 5.250 seats and without any serious marketing already more than half of the tickets are sold.
