Ukrainian conductor Olha Dondyk (19) made her debut in January 2024 with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra in a concert organized in support of Ukraine; she was reinvited immediately. This particular event served as a turning point in her life, opening the way to her international conducting career.

Despite the challenges posed by Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in March 2022, Olha found refuge in Germany. With the help and support of newfound acquaintances, she maintained her artistic spirit, eventually starting her studies at the Cologne University of Music and Dance later that year. Specializing in orchestra conducting under the guidance of Professor Alexander Rumpf, Olha realized her longtime dream of creating music with her beloved instrument, the orchestra.

Alongside her studies, Olha actively engages in a cultural mission. Teaming up with Oksana Dondyk in a chamber music duo, she participates in numerous concerts that introduce Ukrainian music and culture to German audiences.

Earlier in her career, in January 2022, Olha took a significant role as an assistant conductor and soloist in the choral musical "Kai and Gerda" by Andriy Bondarenko at the National Philharmonic of Ukraine. This marked a notable chapter in her musical journey, reflecting her commitment to the art of conducting early on.

Rooted in a family of professional musicians in Kyiv, Olha's musical journey began very early in life, graduating from music school with a background in piano and violin. In 2019 Olha embarked on a journey into choral conducting at the Glier Kyiv Academy of Music, immersing herself in the rich choral tradition of her homeland. Her early experiences in directing a children's choir set the stage for her later achievements.
