Maestro Jules Reveals joins Interartists Amsterdam
We are delighted to announce that conductor Jules van Hessen’s concert concept Maestro Jules Reveals has joined Interartists Amsterdam!
In the last decade, conductor Jules van Hessen and his team have built a unique brand in The Netherlands: Maestro Jules Reveals. With almost every professional Dutch orchestra, “Maestro” Jules van Hessen has introduced classical masterpieces to new music lovers, but also to a more experienced audience. Maestro Jules appeals to a surprisingly wide array of listeners in almost any age group.

The formula is effective and simple: Maestro Jules reveals everything you need to know about the classical piece and the composer in a unique, charismatic, entertaining and humorous style, which has earned him the nickname "The Stand-up Conductor". The orchestra illustrates Maestro Jules' story by performing musical excerpts. A screen behind the orchestra displays pictures and symbols that visually underline Van Hessen’s explanation, making the music comprehensible and accessible.
After the interval, the classical masterpiece is played without interruptions, and the audience members, some of whom have never listened to live classical music before, experience something completely new in the concert hall: “understanding music through New Ears”.
The series is now being performed in many major concert halls throughout the Netherlands by different Dutch and German orchestras. The success of the concept Maestro Jules Reveals has led to three prime-time broadcasts with the Dutch Radio Philharmonic Orchestra on Dutch Public Television (AVROTROS).
In March 2020, Maestro Jules presented his formula in Germany, conducting the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen, successfully introducing the concept to the German public.
